Symbols of Dalías

The (unofficial) flag of Dalías is in proportions 2:3, white, with the coat of arms is in the middle, having nearly the total height of the panel.

The coat of arms of Dalías is prescribed by Decree No. 351, adopted in 1959 and confirmed by a Decree adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of arms: Gules a pre-Roman boat sailing on waves argent and azure cantonned dexter by a yoke and a bundle of arrows all or.

The shield is surrounded by a scroll or inscribed with "CIUDAD DE DALÍAS" in letters gules. The ship has a sail argent and a mast sable topped with a pennant gules.
The boat represents the legend of the Queen of Halías, founder of the town, who disembarked in Balerma and followed a watercourse up to the source of Celín.
