Presentation of Kistanje

Kistanje is located 50 km east of Šibenik and c. 20 km south-west of Knin. It has 3,000 inhabtants, 1,700 in the village of the same name. Population includes about 57% Serbs and 40% Croats. Outside the village on river Krka is the famous Serb Orthodox Monastery of Krka. Also in the vicinity are the remains of the Roman camp of Burnum.

Symbols of Kistanje

Decision Rješenje o osnivanju i imenovanju Povjerenstva za izradu grba i zastave Općine Kistanje, adopted on 31 January 2006 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 20 March 2006 in the County official gazette Službeni vjesnik Šibensko-kninske županije, No. 4, set up a three-member commission to prepare and conduct a contest and to present the best design to the Assembly.
