Presentation of Tribunj

Tribunj is located some 30 km north of Šibenik, on the coast. It has just under 1,500 inhabtants.
The medieval fort of Jurjevgrad was built on the coast on the St. Nicholas hill, but already in the 15th century, the settlement was formed on a small island just off the coast, connected to it with a bridge.
The municipality was formed in 2006 by secession from the Town of Vodice.

Symbols of Tribunj

On 25 January 2008, the municipality launched a 90-day contest for the design of the symbols (text). The contest was published on 13 February 2008 in the Croatian official gazette Narodne Novine, No. 18.
Decision Odluka o imenovanju Povjerenstva za utvrdivanje grba, zastave i loga Općine Tribunj, adopted on 11 August 2008 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 12 August 2008 in the County official gazette Službeni vjesnik Šibensko-kninske županije, No. 8 (
text), set up a commission to determine the coat of arms, flag and logo.
The contest was eventually invalidated by a Decision (text) adopted on 4 February 2009 by the Municipality Assembly; presumably, no satisfactory design was submitted.
