Coat of arms

[Albufeira commune CoA] image by Sérgio Horta,

The arms are Gules a tower Argent masoned Sable with port and windows over a base wavy of Argent and Vert, pendulant from chief a demi sun-in-splendour Or with face. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (commune rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ALBUFEIRA".
(editorial note: the inscription is remarkable insofar, as usually for communes with a synonym municipality the inscription begins with "FREGUESIA DE ..." in order to distinct both entities)
António Martins-Tuválkin, Peter Hans van den Muijzenberg, Chris Southworth, and James Dignan, 21 - 23 Nov 2010

Flag and arms adopted and published in the official journal Diário da República: III Série on 12 April 1996
